Nestled in the Swedish town of Kumla, just outside Örebro, lies the heart of our company, where we blend a global vision with deep local roots. At Persson Innovation, we are pioneers in sustainable packaging, producing recyclable paper handles designed to replace plastic. While our products reach customers across continents, we remain proudly anchored in our hometown.
Maintaining production in Sweden is a cornerstone of our strategy. With 100% of our products manufactured in Kumla, we ensure uncompromising quality while staying close to the Nordic forests that provide our sustainable raw materials. By keeping production local, we not only strengthen our ties to Swedish craftsmanship but also contribute to the local economy. As Andreas Carlson, our CEO, explains:
“Our roots in Kumla are not just part of our history—they’re part of our strength. By staying local in production, nurturing talent, and innovating for the future, we’ve been able to ensure high quality in our products and make a meaningful impact on markets worldwide.”
Today, we export 99% of our products, making Swedish craftsmanship a global benchmark for quality and sustainability. Most of our exports go to North America, followed by Europe, with Asia and South America as emerging markets. Over the past few years, we have successfully expanded our reach, finding opportunities in regions where sustainability is becoming a priority.
This export-driven growth has positioned us as a trusted partner for businesses worldwide. While demand for sustainable alternatives continues to rise, our focus on recyclable solutions has created new opportunities, allowing us to build lasting partnerships with global leaders who share our vision for sustainability.
“We believe that sustainable products are not only essential for the planet but also create long-term value for businesses and consumers alike. By offering solutions that replace single-use plastics, we’re not just meeting a demand—we’re helping to build a future where sustainability is the norm, not the exception,” says Andreas Carlson.
Innovation and adaptability remain at the heart of our progress. In 2024, we introduced an enhanced version of our recyclable paper handles, further solidifying our reputation as a leader in sustainable solutions. Combined with strategic investments in production capacity, this innovation positions us to meet increasing global demand in the years to come.
Sustainability, however, is our defining feature. Our recyclable paper handles help reduce plastic waste while relying on raw materials—primarily Nordic pine—from sustainably managed forests. The trees growing in Sweden and Finland possess exceptional strength and quality, unmatched by materials from other parts of the world. This ensures that our products meet the highest standards of durability and sustainability. Additionally, by keeping production in Kumla, we benefit from a team of skilled and experienced individuals who share our commitment to excellence and innovation. By prioritizing sea freight to minimize environmental impact and continuously improving energy efficiency, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also support a circular economy in collaboration with our customers and suppliers.
“As we continue to grow, our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and Swedish craftsmanship will remain at the core of everything we do. Together with our partners, we aim to shape a global future where sustainability is not just a goal, but the standard,” says Andreas Carlson.
At Persson, we proudly say: from Kumla to the world—our commitment to a more sustainable future drives everything we do.
